Overview
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience 3 stages of the Tour de France in Brittany, the heartland of French Cycling. Birthplace of so many of the great French cyclists, including Bernard Hinault who hails from St Brieuc where our trip is based, Brittany is the spiritual home of French cycling.
Experience the initial stage of the 2021 Tour de France with VIP access to both the Start and Finish. The Mur-de-Bretagne always produces one of the most exciting finishes of the Tour and you’ll climb it just ahead of the peloton on Stage 2.
Our Company Founder, Peter Thomson, raced with Bernard Hinault in St Brieuc – so he knows a thing or two about riding in the region. Get ready for some incredible rides with Peter and the rest of the team!
The terrain in Brittany can be described as “hilly”, not the mountains of the Pyrenees or Alps. Instead of our usual Sport, Performance and Extreme rides, we’ve designed just one daily ride that should be comfortable for most riders. Shorter rides will be available if the scheduled ride is too challenging for you.
Book with Confidence Commitment
Because of the uncertainty at present due to Covid-19, we are offering a greater level of flexibility. Our Book with Confidence commitment is designed to give you peace of mind by providing a full refund for cancellations received before March 31.

Bienvenue en Bretagne
Your trip starts at St Brieuc Railway Station where our staff will meet you before the short transfer to our hotel in downtown St Brieuc.
After lunch, orientation meeting and bike build-up, you’ll head out on your first ride in Brittany. Our warm-up ride takes you up the Côte de Plérin before dropping down to the beaches along the Atlantic shoreline.

Day 2

Cap Fréhel and Fort La Latte
Brittany is famous for it’s spectacular coastline and today’s ride features the extensive beaches and rugged cliffs between St Brieuc and the Cap Fréhel. Brittany is also famous for having produced many of the top French professional cyclists and today you’ll ride through Yffiniac, the birth-place of the badger, Bernard Hinault.
An inland route will take you through the typical ups and downs of the Breton landscape until you reach Cap Fréhel after 45km. Stop for a photo op at Fort La Latte, an imposing, medieval castle dating back to the 14th century. From there you’ll follow the remarkable coastline all the way back to our hotel in St Brieuc.

Grand Depart
No Stage today. The Tour de France starts tomorrow, June 25.
Stage 1
Brest > Landerneau
In a post card type scenery, going through Locronan and Quimper, this first day will offer no respite. The never ending accelerations due to the frequent changes in direction, the windy parts in the Monts d'Arrée and a finish at the top of 3-km hill at an average 5.7% (including parts at 14%) will crown one hell of a puncher.

Stage 2
Perros-Guirec > Mûr-de-Bretagne
The first part of the race will allow the riders to appreciate the wild and unique beauty of the Côte de Granit rose. The route then heads inland towards a mouthwatering final section: the double climb up the Côte de Mûr-de-Bretagne. The Mûr will be an unforgiving judge, especially since the riders will start the climb almost from a standstill, unlike the previous year when momentum saw them through the first part of the climb.

Stage 3
Lorient > Pontivy
Warren Barguil, best climber of the 2017 Tour should have all eyes on him as he takes off from his birthplace. Unfortunately he won't be in the spotlights at the finish: at the Château des Rohan the sprinters certainly won’t miss out on this first opportunity to express themselves.
Stage 4
Redon > Fougères
This journey through Argoat, the beautiful inland Brittany entirely set in the Gallo country and going from one side to the other of the Ille-et-Vilaine area is another fine opportunity for the sprinters. Unless if audacious riders make the best of the hilly forrest roads or windy conditions on the few unsheltered uplands to remain clear of the hungry pack.
