A Climber’s Tale is our introduction to riding the Tour de France and a celebration of our favourite way to spend any day — climbing mountains! Since setting up Thomson Bike Tours in 2001, I must have covered over 250,000km on the bike and haven’t grown one bit weary of doing so. One of the reasons behind that is the simple enjoyment I have in introducing new cyclists to the most challenging and rewarding cycling experiences imaginable. There are few better environments to do that than at the Tour de France, where we are privileged with unrivalled access to the race.
With this book I wanted to inspire you to share that experience with us. Through essays, stunning photography and our own unique route planning insights I want to give you a flavour of the Tour experience our clients enjoy and why we keep coming back for more.
