Overview

Home to some of Italy’s all-time greatest cyclists such as Bartali, Bettini and Cipollini, Tuscany is one of our favorite European cycling destinations in Italy.

Our trip starts in Radda-in-Chianti, in the heart of the world famous Chianti wine region. From Chianti we head over to the remote western edge of Tuscany and the medieval hill-top towns of Volterra and San Gimignano.

The trip ends in the quintessential Tuscan town of Pienza and includes a ride to Monte Amiata, the highest point in Tuscany at 1700m!

Benvenuti in Toscana

Your trip starts at Florence airport where our staff will meet you before the transfer to your hotel in Radda in Chianti.

After lunch, orientation meeting, and bike build-up, you’ll head out on an afternoon warm-up ride through the surrounding Chianti vineyards.

Day 2

Distance

Elevation

Castello di Brolio

A beautiful ride today through the famous Chianti vineyards and olive groves to the south of Radda in Chianti. The 10km climb to Monteluco is the longest challenge of the day but there are plenty of shorter climbs to make this a challenging day in the saddle. With 15km still to ride you’ll pass by the magnificent Castello di Brolio which we’ll visit in the afternoon.

Day 3

Distance

Chianti Vineyards

More Chianti vineyards today, this time to the north of Radda, which has totally different landscapes from yesterdays ride. From Radd you’ll head west through oak forests to Castellina in Chianti. From there enjoy a stunningly beautiful ride through Greve in Chianti and Lucolena and the fantastic descent through the vast vineyards of the Castello di Albola.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit the magnificent town of Siena.
