I absolutely loved Catalonia. Roads were so peaceful, the route was so thoughtful and the people on the trip were just all around fun. If would be it, ahead of Alps, Pyrenees, Dolomites. Distances, elevations, scenery were all fantastic. All of this in the pouring rain! Great job yet again, Thanks
Some of the most spectacular landscapes I’ve ever ridden. It rivals some of Tuscany’s most beautiful scenery. The van support made the difference, especially being able to re-fuel along the way.
This was my 8th Thomson trip and the Trans Catalunya ranks right up there with the most difficult and most enjoyable of the Thomson “Trans” trips. Great scenery, quite (almost deserted roads). Truly one of the most enjoyable Thomson trips for me.
I really enjoyed exploring Catalonia - Peter and Sergi crafted a great and challenging course that took us through many new and unexplored (for me) roads. Very little traffic, challenging climbs, beautiful scenery and great hotels really made the trip special - this is a treat for those riders who are ready to move beyond the “big name” climbs and look for new challenges in rides and climbs, exposure to Catalonia’s unique culture and beautiful scenery.
Many of the roads seemed to be known only to the locals. We benefited from that local color, I felt Sergi’s “fingerprints” all over the routes. The obscure routes on virtually vehicle free roads was really nice.
Peter and his team once again outdid themselves. Thomson has to be the best outfitter in the business. On the subject of food on the trip, specifically breakfast and dinner, although very adequate, I would suggest a greater variety of fruits and vegetables at each meal.
I enjoyed the trip - Catalonia is beautiful and the climbing is certainly challenging. The weather played a factor with heavy rain the first couple of days. I would like to have had the list of riders and their home town/country prior to the trip.
Great trip as always. Beautiful scenery, challenging riding and fantastic support!
Thanks again Peter for a wonderful route and hotel selections. Sorry that the weather didn’t work out to your plans. I love Catalonia and will surely return (either with you or on my own). The scenery is spectacular and the riding is just difficult enough to make it worthwhile. Perhaps next time there could be a little time in Andorra?
