Bienvenidos a España!
Meet a Pro Team
Our trip starts at Bilbao airport where our staff will be there to welcome you before heading south to Logrono to meet a pro team!
We will have an exclusive behind the scenes visit ! A pro Team Executive will give you an amazing insight into how a pro team works. You will visit the team bus, see the bikes and equipment and be let in on some team secrets. It’s an absolute favorite on our Spectators’ Trip - a real VIP experience giving unparalleled access to the team. We’ll have a late lunch and transfer to our hotel in Villacarriedo.
Santander is a beautiful city located in the north of Spain. It is the main city of Cantabria, that sits on the coast and is surrounded by rolling green hills. In the 19th century the city was a renowned tourist resort for Spanish aristocrats and the city still keeps wonderful palaces and promenades, a bay type architecture with white buildings, old cafés and its famous casino. It’s a great place to wander around and soak up the Spanish sun and sample the local gastronomic treats.
La Vuelta LIVE - Stage 17 Los Machucos
The popularity of the Vuelta has surged in recent years and the inclusion of numerous short, steep summit finishes has been one of the main contributors to the Vuelta’s recent success.
We’ll climb the Machucos in the support vans, before the peloton, then settle in for an afternoon of thrilling race action. It’s an amazing atmosphere on the mountain, with excitement and crowds and we will be in plenty of time to look around and see if we can meet any cycling media. Early afternoon we will head to our VIP area near the finish line. A private area, providing live coverage of the race, drinks and snacks, before the peleton head into view for real!
La Vuelta LIVE - Stage 18 Race Departure Village
Stage Start in Suances
We start today with a short transfer to Suances to catch the start of Stage 18. Take a stroll around the departure village and meet the pros. The Vuelta is way more relaxed than either the Tour de France or the Giro d’Italia and provides a great opportunity to meet the riders and celebrities. A great experience.
After the race has started, we’ll move on to one of our favorite areas, Cangas de Onis in the Picos de Europa mountains. It’s a beautiful town in itself and in the afternoon we’ll head out to the center and explore and drive up to Covadonga. Covadonga pretty much targets every button on the scenic tourist’s hit list and offers breathtaking scenery. There is also a religious sanctuary with a splendid and historic basilica and a mythical grotto.
La Vuelta LIVE - Stage 19 Race Departure Village
VIP Access to the Stage Start
Today we are heading to Las Caldas and making an important stop on the way. Another chance to see the start of the race!
As a seasoned pro at this now, this second opportunity means you can get to see the riders and teams you missed the day before. You don’t have to attempt to see all the teams in one morning. It’s great to do once, let alone twice! Enjoy being behind the scenes as a VIP once more, before the race heads off to Gijón. In the afternoon we will head to Las Caldas, where you will have opportunity to enjoy the thermal center or spa – it’s a gorgeous hotel, time to recharge the batteries for an hour or two.
La Vuelta LIVE - Stage 19 l'Anglirú
What a day we have lined up! The last mountain before the race heads to Madrid on what will surely be a decisive stage. As usual we will head up nice and early to sample the atmosphere and excitement and see who we can meet at the finish line and media village. It’s a lot more small scale then the Tour de France and we often speak to Matt Keenan and the Eurosport crew. We’ll head to our VIP area again, no need to camp out for hours. Live coverage, drinks, snacks and a great view will make for an amazing day to see who is in red!
La Vuelta LIVE - The Grand Finale in Madrid
We transfer down to Madrid in the morning to catch the race as it enters the Spanish capital.
There’s a great festive atmosphere around the stage finish on the main boulevard in Madrid. Unlike the other Grand Tours, you can really get close to the action and feel a part of the race.
In the evening you can explore this vibrant city and relax with drinks and tapas on one of it’s many terraces, reminiscing about a great trip!
Unfortunately our trip to La Vuelta a España has come to an end and it’s time say to say ‘adios’ after an amazing trip.
