Bienvenue en France
Our staff will meet you at Bordeaux Airport. After checking into the hotel we’ll have lunch where you’ll get a chance to meet your fellow Tour de France fans. Following lunch we’ll have a short orientation meeting where we’ll run through the plans for the upcoming week. Then we will head into the center of Bordeaux, where you can spend the afternoon exploring this world heritage site. Bordeaux, hub of the famed wine-growing region, is a port city on the Garonne River in southwestern France. It’s known for its Gothic Cathédrale Saint-André, 18th- to 19th-century mansions and notable art museums such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux. Public gardens line the curving river quays. The grand Place de la Bourse, centered on the Three Graces fountain, overlooks the Miroir d’Eau reflecting pool
Meet a Pro Team!
In the morning, we will have an exclusive behind the scenes visit of a pro Team! A pro Team Executive will give you an amazing insight into how a pro team works. You will visit the team bus, see the bikes and equipment and be let in on some team secrets. It’s an absolute favorite on our Spectators’ Trip-a real VIP experience giving unparalleled access to the team.
Next, we will travel onto Perigeux. The town has been in existence since neolithic times, and later became an important Roman centre. The town suffered a great deal in the Middle Ages through the Hundred Years War and other conflicts in the region, then had a ‘rebirth’ - and much construction in the town dates from this time - in the 16th century. Perigueux contains an interesting medieval and renaissance center, with attractive boulevards and streets lined with medieval houses to explore, all accessible on foot around the city center.

VIP Stage finish at Bergerac
Today we’ll witness the thrill of a finish. We will arrive in plenty of time to explore the arrival areas and join in the excitement of the day. We’ll have some free time to Explore Place Pelissiere which is a lovely square edged with cafes and restaurants, the St James church with its attractive bell-tower, and a number of lovely medieval streets with half-timbered houses. Early afternoon we will enter our VIP area by the finish line, a 3 tiered viewing area with complimentary appetizers, drinks and official TDF photos. A tour of the technical village will allow us to get up close to the finish line, see the inside of the media and TV crew area (maybe Phil and Jens will say hi), view the podium and get a real insight into the arrival area. Back to our viewing area, we will await for the riders to cross the finish line. This will be a true VIP experience!

VIP Access to the Departure Village at the Stage Start in Eymet
As an Official Tour Operator, we have secured a visit of the ‘Team Paddock’ and Departure Village stage start in Montelimar. The Departure Village allows you to see sponsors and gain VIP entry, perhaps even meeting past winners of the race. Then onto our favorite - the paddock! It is where all the cyclists and teams congregate pre-race and offers fantastic opportunities to get up-close to the riders, the Tour celebrities and get a first-hand view of the inner workings of the Tour de France. This is the place to get those all-important autographs and pictures with the Tour celebrities and riders. It’s a favorite on our Spectator Trips! Then it’s off to the Pyrenees for the second part of the trip.

VIP Access to the Relais-Etape
You will have sampled every aspect of being a VIP after today! In the morning we will drive towards Foix and then we will head to our VIP area where we will be greeted by our hostess and ex pro riders. The Relais Etape is situated on the course, generally within a few kms from the end, and allows us to view the race in VIP style. A 3 course meal, free bar, live coverage on TV until the cyclists pass right in front of us live, it is an amazing way to watch a stage! You can feel the excitement build as you watch official vehicles zoom by, hear the helicopters above as they track the cyclists getting nearer and nearer and get a roadside view as they pass by! A Tour de France gift is presented as a reminder of a great day and holiday.
Unfortunately our Tour de France Experience must come to an end. We will drop you off at Toulouse Airport, safe travels!
Please note the Tour de France departs from Toulouse Blagnac so you can make your own way there (five minutes by taxi) to go see the departure. This will not be part of your tour, but something you may want to take into account when booking to go home.
