Latest Travel Update

As we continue to face the uncertainty caused by the recent outbreak of Coronavirus, we would like to share with you the current status of our trips. Our main priority in these unprecedented times is ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests and staff. During these difficult times for everyone, we also want to give you as much flexibility as possible with regards to payment and cancellation policies. With this in mind please see below the latest updates regarding the status of our 2020 trips and our updated payment and cancellation policies:
1. All trips from Aug 1 through Sep 15, 2020 (including Tour de France trips)
As expected, as of July 1, 2020 the EU has banned all non-essential travel from the United States to EU countries. Also, since March 25, Australia has had a ban in place concerning all non-essential overseas travel for Australian citizens.
Given the fact that the vast majority of our guests are from the United States and Australia, we are left with no alternative but to cancel all trips with a start date between August 1 and September 15. All payments will be applied as trip credits towards any future Thomson Bike Tours trip (with no expiry date).
2. All trips from Sep 16 through Dec 31, 2020
The EU will be reviewing the travel bans every 2 weeks. We’re hopeful that the current situation in the United States improves within the next few weeks and the EU eventually reverses its decision to ban American travellers.
We’ll be monitoring the situation carefully and provide our next travel update on or around July 31st.
Cancellation Policy (all trips from Sep 16 through Dec 31, 2020)
We understand that the COVID-19 outbreak has generated a lot of uncertainty, so we’ve made our cancellation policy for our Sep 16 through Dec 31 trips much more flexible:
- If Thomson Bike Tours cancels the trip: any payments made on or after June 1 will be refunded. Any payments made before June 1 will be applied as a trip credit towards any future trip (with no expiry date).
- If you cancel your trip: based on the date of your cancellation, the following cancellation terms will apply:
IF YOU CANCEL YOUR TRIP…
|more than 14 days prior to departure||We will refund your payment minus the $500 deposit (applied as a future trip credit)|
|between 5 and 14 days prior to departure||We will refund 50% of the total trip price minus the $500 deposit (applied as a future trip credit)|
|less than 5 days prior to departure||No refund (the $500 deposit will be applied as a future trip credit)|
Please note that trip credits are non-refundable.
