Our Special Guests

Peter Flax: Editor-in-Chief

Editor-in-Chief of Bicycling since 2010, Flax is a life-long cyclist who has ridden across the US, competed in road races, and ridden all over the world. His appetite for riding is matched only by his love of exquisite food and wine. "As great as the riding is in northern Italy, the food may be even better. I've enjoyed some of the best meals of my life in that region. The fact that I often have a super-charged appetite from amazing rides just makes every meal more glorious."

Connect with Peter on twitter by following @Plax1 before joining him in Italy.

Bill Strickland: Editor-at-Large

Strickland is author of Bicycling's popular The Selection blog. Dario Pegoretti built him a bike, based on measurements made during an informal fitting at the 2011 North American Handmade Bike Show, an experience available to cyclists on this trip. He is also the tastemaker behind the scenes of the enigmatic Kapelmuur Independent cycling club, and has ridden extensively in Europe and across the US. A glutton for punishment, he and several friends once attempted to ride the routes of all of the northern classics in one week.

Selene Yeager: Contributing Writer

Author of Bicycling's “Fit Chick” column, and numerous fitness books, Yeager is a noted expert on training, nutrition, and weight loss. Her true cycling passion is in mountain biking, and she has raced on fat tires in South America, Africa, and many US states. Of all those experiences, she cites racing through Brazil--where she rode alongside wild horses--as her favorite cycling memory … but this will be her first trip to the Dolomites.
