Trip Itinerary

The Hotel Relais FranciaCorta

Day 1: Buongiorno!

Our trip begins at Milan Malpensa airport where our staff will pick you up and transport you to our first destination, the Hotel Relais FranciaCorta, a stunning 17th century restored farmhouse situated on Lake Iseo.

After our Orientation meeting and lunch, our mechanics will get you fit on your Bianchi Infinito CV. Pick up your Bianchi gift bag then get ready for our first ride in Lombardy. From the hotel we'll head up the Passo Tre Termine with it's stunning views of Lake Iseo. From the Tre Termine, enjoy the descent and the beautiful ride through vineyards and the beautiful villages that line Lake Iseo.

Lining up for the start of the Bianchi-Gimondi GF

Day 2: Gran Fondo Italiano

As special guests of Bianchi, we'll head to Bergamo to line up for the Granfondo Bianchi-Gimondi. This year's event will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gimondi's Tour de France win in 1965.

Experience a true European gran fondo, as you ride through the vineyards and mountains with your newfound Italian friends. 3 distances are available, 89km, 128km and for the adventurous, there's a 162km ride with an elevation gain of 2500m. After an epic day on the bike, enjoy a relaxing glass of our hotel's signature vino against the backdrop of the Alpine foothills!

Exclusive tour of the Bianchi Factory

Day 3: Giro Ride & Bianchi Visit

We'll begin our day with a magnificent ride over quintessential Giro d'Italia terrain. We'll climb both Colle del Gallo and Colle di San Fermo on a spectacular 90km route through the Italian Alps.

After, we'll make our way to Treviglio for an exclusive tour of the famed Bianchi Factory. Bianchi is celebrating their 130th year! We'll discuss Bianchi's history and future as we take an inside look at their innovative machines. The day ends at our next destination- the sensational town of Bellagio on Lake Como.

The Muro di Sormano

Day 4: Dream Lombardy Ride

Today we experience an iconic route that should be on every cyclist's bucket list.

First we'll ride up the Passo Ghisallo to the famous Madonna del Ghisallo, a legendary cycling church and museum. We'll stop and enjoy this magnificent shrine with all its memorabilia and history. Next up is the infamous Muro di Sormano, a leg-breaking 15% average "wall" from the Giro di Lombardia. It's only 2K, but you’ll remember every meter.

Fueled by a great sense of accomplishment, we'll descend back down to Bellagio and it’s breathtaking views of Lake Como.

Lugano

Day 5: Into Switzerland

We'll say goodbye to Bellagio to make our way to another European hotspot. Climbing over the classic Giro di Lombardia climb of San Fedele, we'll cross the border into Switzerland.

Enjoy the stunning views along Lake Maggiore as we ride into Lugano, affectionately known as the "Monte Carlo of Switzerland". Lugano's prime weather and sensational water views have attracted a growing population of celebrities, entertainers and athletes. Cycling superstars Vincenzo Nibali and Alberto Contador live here, so the riding must be good!

Pro training terrain in Switzerland

Day 6: Pro Training Terrain

Both Alberto Contador and Vicenzo Nibali have their home based in Lugano. If the Top 2 climbers in the world of cycling live here there must be a few good climbs around and our ride today will include 2 of their favourite climbs.

First up is the climb to Alpe di Neggia, which at 22km and an average of 5.4%, is the perfect training ground to prepare for the big climbs of the Giro and Tour de France. Enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Maggiore on the descent to Cadenazzo. From Cadenazzo, we have a short climb to Monte Ceneri before heading back to Lugano to soak up the local scene!

VIP invitations to dinner at the Bianchi Cafe

Day 7: VIP Treatment

Tonight, Bianchi will treat us to a very special VIP dinner at the recently opened Bianchi Café in downtown Milan. Enjoy a feast of Italian food and wine as we celebrate the iconic brand's 130th anniversary in this smartly designed space!

But before heading down to Milan, we'll get out for one last ride in the Swiss Alps. After an early breakfast we'll head north from Lugano towards the village of Valcolla. Of course it's a climb all the way up to Valcolla but the stunning views of Lake Maggiore are worth the effort. From Valcolla it's all downhill to Lugano where we can enjoy the best espresso in town before heading back to our hotel.

Day 8: Arrivederci!
